Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to provide our clients with non-medical in-home care that will enable them to live happily in the comfort of their own homes. The duties for this position include but are not limited to basic day-to-day functions with household chores, preparing meals, shopping, and helping the client with grooming and dressing. Caregiver will, in some situations, be required to drive client to appointments or shopping.

Job Content: The following tasks and their descriptions are required of this position:

Companionship: Offers friendly conversation and social interaction, focusing on the physical and mental well being of the client.
Light Housekeeping: Dusts furniture, sweeps and vacuums floors in all rooms, wipes down kitchen counters, washes dishes or loads and run dishwasher, strips bed and washes bed linens, laundry (laundry will consist of washing, drying, folding and helping the client put clothes away. Takes garbage out.
Meal Preparation: Assists client with the planning of nutritious meals, cooks, and serves the meal.
Transportation/Escort for Appointments: Provides transportation to and from appointments. Escorts the client in and waits until the client is ready to leave.
Shopping: Provides transportation to and from grocery store and will either escort client through store or will take a shopping list and shop for the client.
Daily Grooming & Bathing: Assists client with bathing by adjusting water temperature, helps them to get into and out of the tub/shower for stability, and hand them personal care items. Assists with hands on bathing where applicable. Assists with the washing and styling of their hair, and getting dressed.
Pet Care: Assists client with basic pet care needs for cats, dogs, birds, and fish. This includes walking, feeding, and cleaning up after the pet.
Sleep Over Service: Spends over night at the client’s house. Upon each circumstance, caregiver will either be permitted to sleep or will be required to stay awake through the night.

Job Requirements: The person selected for this position will possess strong interpersonal skills both oral and written; must be highly responsible and dependable; have hands-on experience working with the elderly, providing similar services as stated above, either on a professional or personal basis.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalence
